Jody became the poster dog for her work after the Nation's worst tornado on May 22 in Joplin, Missouri. She worked uncovering victims until her feet were so torn and bloody that I pulled her out of the search and rescue out of pity. She was still hobbling through the rubble in such pain that two Deputies had tears in their eyes and stayed on the site of her last hit until the body was found - even knowing that two other dog teams had mistakenly cleared the area. They called in a third team because they had so much faith in Jody's ability.

Three days later the man in charge of the search and rescue effort asked for Jody specifically. He said, "If she can walk, please bring her." She covered several areas that had already been covered by other teams, and found a partial body. She was only 15 months old at the time and was not even certified for search and rescue work. She leaves for her formal training in germany and will come back with her SchH3 title.

Charles "PeeWee" Goldsmith, former Hell's Angels President, has asked for a puppy out of Jody for his family. I don't know what kind of dog you may be looking for, but you won't find another one like Jody.
